Il faut avouer que ce n’est pas tous les jours qu’un artiste surtout rappeur me donne une claque. En me réveillant ce matin, je tombe sur cette chanson de Nass qui me coupe complètement le souffle. Il s’agit en fait de son titre “Focus“. J’ai donc décidé d’en parler question de partager avec vous.

Tout d’abord, ce qu’il faut savoir c’est que NASS est un artiste musicien camerounais né à Montréal (CANADA). Il a la chance de passer son enfance à Douala (Cameroun) où il apprend à jouer à plusieurs instruments, notamment de la guitare, et du piano. C’est d’ailleurs sa grand-mère qui lui offre sa première guitare afin de suivre les cours de musique avec le guitariste camerounais TONY TONAL. Voilà où nait sa passion pour la musique.

Sa rencontre avec Michael KAKEU sera déterminante vu que c’est celui-ci qui l’oriente vers le musicien qu’il va devenir. Il l’initie à l’improvisation et à la composition et le pousse à adopter le piano, instrument auquel il était initialement réfractaire.

Son EP OPUS FOCUS

Son entrée dans le Game se fait par la sortie de l’EP “Opus Focus“. Un de ses proverbes préférés est le suivant : “Un voyage de mille lieux commence toujours par un premier pas” LAO TZU. Le terme “OPUS” se rattache à l’œuvre musicale, “FOCUS“ par contre évoque la concentration. Pendant toute sa conception de l’EP, Nass se répétait sans cesse que quoiqu’il advienne, il devait rester concentré et malgré les thèmes “sérieux” qu’il aborde, il aime l’humour, les jeux de mots et les calembours. C’est un clin d’œil à la célèbre formule magique “Hocus Pocus“, il s’est donc dit que cela apporterait une certaine touche de légèreté.

Pas facile pour un artiste “up coming” surtout dans l’industrie du disque au Cameroun. Je reste tout de même convaincu qu’avec son originalité, Nass est capable de se créer une vraie place.
