La genèse du mot Rythme (ou Rhythm en anglais ) remonte à la Grèce antique. En musique, le rythme est la notion de “mouvement harmonieux” que produit une répétition. Est-ce la raison pour laquelle le duo, qui fût un trio avec l’incontournable Dr. Nkeng Stephens, a choisi ce mot déjà évocateur, Rythmz, comme nom de scène?
Rythmz – Les débuts de Kessy et Dianée
Rythmz est actuellement un duo de deux jeunes artistes de la musique camerounaise. Dianée et Kezzy ont commencé leur carrière à Buea en 2010. Ils signent ensuite chez No Hitz No Recordz Entertainment, c’est le début d’une carrière professionnel qui prendra une autre tournure, lorsque en 2016 le label Empire Company succombe à leur talent. C’est ainsi que verra jour les titres “Tobassi” et “Boboloh”.
De ces deux jeunes camerounais, il faudra un peu plus fouiné dans leur passé, pour comprendre l’immensité de leur savoir faire.
Dianée, de son vrai nom Diyani Bill Munyenge, est né un 27 décembre à Buea. Il est à la fois artiste et producteur de musique. J’ai été tout autant surpris comme certains d’entre vous, lorsque j’ai eu vent de la liste d’artistes pour lesquels, il a eu à produire des sons. De Ambe (rendez-vous) à Longue Longue en passant par Blanche Bailly, Numerica, Daphné (e.a Rastafari), X-Maleya et Lady Ponce. Finalement ses études de beatmaking/production au Nigeria, semblent avoir porté des fruits.
Kezzy, de son vrai nom Fogap Etienne Nkeng, est né un 2 juin 1990 à Yaoundé. Il est quant à lui également artiste, mais aussi ingénieur de son. Il s’est spécialisé dans le mixage et le mastering audio. En conséquence, la liste d’artistes, avec lesquels il a eu à travailler, est quasiment similaire à celle de Dianée. Cet ancien étudiant en ingénierie électrique à pu, du moins dans la musique, trouver sa voie. Ce dont nous ne pouvons qu’être fier.
Rythmz – La discographie
Précurseurs et créateurs de ce qu’ils appellent l’ AfroBikossa, un savant mélange d’afropop, makossa, bendskin et bikutsi, les Rythmz peuvent fièrement brandir du moins une panoplie de singles à succès en tant qu’artistes. Ayant déjà dans leur escarcelle des productions pour des artistes de renoms, ils ont su aussi se positionner comme chanteurs :

Lors d’un récent Facebook Live, pendant le tournage vidéo de leur prochain titre FEDETI (réalisé par Adah Akenji), ils ont fait de nombreuses allusions à une sortie éminente. Leur tout premier projet studio comportera, selon des sources non vérifiées, 5 titres inédits et 2 bonus.
