Jamesy convainc mais se fait tacler

JAMESY est un artiste originaire du Sud Cameroun. J’ai fait sa connaissance grâce à son nouveau single “Dime Lambe”, ce qui m’a poussé à faire quelques petites recherches. Il a été en effet élu meilleur artiste de “TAKE YOUR MIC”, un concept de promotion de musiques urbaines, pas très connu, qui se déroulait chaque trimestre à Yaoundé. En outre il est signé par le label Madiba Brand.

Souvent un artiste peut faire le gros du boulot artistique, mais la fin est gâché par une simple petite inadvertance…

Jamesy – Dime Lambe

Le son produit par DJ Kriss annonce déjà une qualité de haut vol, pour le standard camerounais. C’est sans surprise que le rythme millimétré, de ce qu’on appelle désormais la pop africaine, m’a directement pris en joute. Une belle harmonie, une voix assez agréable et un message qui se laisse, sans peine, entendre.

Le texte

L’artiste du Madiba Brand, dénonce des maux que l’on pourrait qualifier de typiquement camerounais: la sorcellerie, la jalousie, la corruption ou le sabotage et l’infidélité se trouvent interpellés. D’ascendance Bulu, il parvient avec beaucoup d’espièglerie à introduire de onomatopées d’autres styles musicales du triangle national, notamment le Bendskin.

Le vidéogramme

Ce parfait combo entre instrumental, lyriques et une bonne maîtrise vocale aurait trouvé son apothéose dans le rendu visuel final, mais hélas…

En effet dès les premières secondes de la vidéo, j’ai eu un sentiment bizarre. J’ai dû frotter à plusieurs reprises mes yeux car je n’y croyais pas. J’ai changé de moniteur et même de support visuel (Télévision et Smartphone), mais la vérité reste implacable: la vidéo est blâmable.

En effet çà et la, on remarque que l’objectif de la camera n’est pas du tout propre. Sur plusieurs scènes c’est le cas, ça laisse un sentiment peu professionnel. Dommage car si la vidéo restait au standard de l’intrus et de la voix, ce single de Jamesy aurait eu un bel impact. La team Madiba Brand a raté ici une occasion de se profiler.

Conclusion

Rien n’est parfait dans le plus beau des mondes, mais ici le label Madiba Brand, en particulier le réalisateur Dominique Maniema, ont fait preuves de beaucoup de négligence au niveau du rendu visuel.

Bon vent à l’artiste, j’espère que ceci n’est qu’un faux pas, car le talent y est…
