SM aka Sophie Marceaux sur Mardi Gras

SM je l’ai connu sur les réseaux sociaux il y a un an plus précisément dans le “Djangui 4” de Monsieur Polémique. Cette jeune artiste originaire de l’Ouest Cameroun, née à Bamenda le 01 septembre vient nous présenter son nouveau single “Mardi Gras”.

Synopsis

Mardi Gras est un extrait de son prochain EP: “Blessed among all women“. Quant à “MARDI GRAS” il est la représentation d’une période festive. En effet ca marque la fin de la semaine des sept jours gras, qui est suivi par le mercredi des cendres  et le carême, pendant lequel les chrétiens sont invités à “manger maigre” en s’abstenant de viande.

Le projet part probablement sur une bonne idée à la base à mon avis. L’idée de “sampler” vocalement “Vantardise” d’Edgard Yonkeu est louable.

J’aurais mieux aimé voir une connivence tant sur le point vocal qu’instrumental à ce niveau. En effet si le beatmaker faisait un son sampler de “Vantardise”, peut être le résultat aurait plus impacter.

Néanmoins ce single prouve la volonté et la créativité de cette jeune artiste féminine camerounaise. “Mardi Gras” est à écouter absolument pour s’évader dans l’univers particulier de Sophie Marceaux aka SM.

Lyricalement elle est bourrée de talents qui n’attendent qu’à être explorer, tout de même l’instrumental reste pour moi une déception. Sans pour autant me répéter, Jaures DJ n’a pas capter l’univers de l’artiste. Le mix/mastering de VALUE laisse aussi à désirer. Enfin côté Flow ca reste une piste exploitable, elle a une identité, ce qui est déjà rare chez plusieurs.
