Et si TEGUIA aka Godkwata était un BLACK PANTHER?

Déjà trois mois que le film Black Panther est sorti sur les grands écrans à Hollywood. Le buzz et l’engouement autour de ce film a également atteint les contrées lointaines camerounaises. Inspiré par le film, un artiste camerounais du nom de Teguia aka Godkwata a composé un nouveau single surnommé Wakanda Show.

Nous allons essayer autant faire ce peu, de décrypter ce nouveau titre basé sur une production de “Kamal a la prod”.

Le Cover

Le jeune Teguia n’est pas passé par quatre chemins. La pochette de ce titre est tout simplement un rapide collage de quelques images “Black Panther”. Mais de prime abord, il se dégage une ambiance intersidérale qui se confirme avec le choix stylistique du titre “Wakanda Show”.

L’instrumental

Il fait parti d’une série de freebeats mises en ligne par Kamal a la Prod, C’est un compositeur de musique urbaine. Il a collaboré notamment avec KeBlack, Guizmo ou encore Alrima. Mais force est de constater que cet instrumental est assez fade et monotone.

Flow et Lyriques

Dans l’ensemble, hum comment le dire élégamment, je dirais qu’il y a du potentiel. Dès l’entrée du premier couplet, il réussi à me faire sourire. En effet suite à une épopée scolaire dans les Bamboutos, Balatchi ne m’est pas totalement inconnue.
En revanche la suite s’est un peu affaissée. L’histoire commence avec une virée en boîte de nuits accompagné avec les habituels “bling bling” du rap game. Rien de surprenant…
Et là arrive le premier refrain, qui est pour mon goût très plat. En effet il a du mal à s’adapter à la mélodie du freebeat. La tirade sur “Wakanda Show” est à ce moment pas encore élucider.
Le couplet s’enchaîne sur des piques avec énumérations de personnalités camerounaises comme Ngannou ou encore Blanche Bailly. Toujours pas de punchlines à signaler à l’horizon

En conclusion le “Wakanda Show” est une musique à thématique festive, l’artiste possède un imaginaire débordant, un flow intéressant, mais il manque un peu de rondeurs et constance dans l’écriture. Finalement le rapport avec le film Black Panther est aussi vague que les sièges de CamairCo dans un avion de luxe. Il y a aucun rapport…
